At MundoCanyon we organise mountain and canyoning courses in the Pyrenees for people who want to start a new activity, improve their technique or prepare for more demanding objectives with a solid foundation. Our mountain training includes canyoning, caving, mountain navigation, via ferratas and specific preparation for access tests.
The courses take place mainly in the Pallars and the Lleida Pyrenees, using real environments: canyons, caves, rock faces, trails, forests and mid-mountain terrain. The aim is not to memorise a collection of manoeuvres, but to understand what to do, when to do it and why.
That is why our mountain sports courses combine technique, practice, terrain reading, planning and decision-making. The content is adapted to each participant’s actual level and the type of training they need.
Learning a technique is only the first step. In the mountains, you also need to know how to interpret a situation, assess alternatives and choose a solution suited to the terrain, the group and the activity.
The caving course introduces participants to specific equipment and the basic techniques of horizontal and vertical progression.
The course covers rope descent and ascent, rebelays, traverses, manoeuvre changes, movement through caves and basic principles of safety and planning.
The training combines technical practice with the application of these manoeuvres inside a real cave.

The mountain navigation course is designed to teach you how to interpret terrain without relying exclusively on GPS or a mobile phone.
We work on map reading, contour lines, scale, map orientation, compass use, bearings, natural landmarks, route planning and navigation in real terrain.
It is also particularly useful for people who want to improve their independence when hiking, trekking or travelling through mid-mountain terrain.

The via ferrata course teaches participants about specific equipment, correct progression techniques and how to prepare an outing responsibly.
The course covers the use of an energy absorber, harness and helmet, progression techniques, effort management, difficulty grading, planning, weather conditions and prevention of common mistakes.
In addition to technical training courses, MundoCanyon offers preparation for mountain sports access tests.
These tests may assess endurance, movement through mountain terrain, navigation and specific technical skills depending on the discipline.
The preparation is structured in several stages:
Preparation can focus on disciplines such as canyoning, mid-mountain and navigation, always according to the requirements of the corresponding call for applications.

Mountain training is most effective when techniques are applied in the environment where they will actually be used.
That is why, whenever the course content allows it, we work through four stages:
In this way, knowledge stops being a series of isolated exercises and becomes part of a real situation.
The same situation may have several possible solutions. Performing a manoeuvre correctly is important, but it is equally important to understand when to use it and when another option is more appropriate.
During our mountain courses we also work on questions such as:
The aim is to progressively develop your own judgement in the mountains, as well as technical knowledge.
MundoCanyon operates from La Pobla de Segur, in Pallars Jussà. This location allows us to offer mountain courses in Lleida in an area with a huge variety of terrain and activities.
Within the same region we find canyons with very different characteristics, caves, via ferratas, forests, mountain tracks, significant elevation changes and mid-mountain terrain.
This diversity makes Pallars particularly suitable for training.
Our mountain courses in Pallars are not tied to a single location. The specific area is selected according to the skills being worked on, the participants’ level and terrain conditions.
A navigation course can take place in an area where reading the relief is genuinely necessary. Caving training can move the techniques learned into a real cave. And a canyoning course allows techniques to be practised in the actual context of a descent.
The techniques taught are not simply part of a theoretical syllabus. They are tools used during real canyoning, caving and mountain activities.
This means we can explain not only how to perform a technique, but also what problems arise in practice and how decisions change depending on the terrain.
Technical training requires observation and individual correction. Working with small groups allows us to dedicate more time to each participant, repeat a manoeuvre when necessary and correct details that can easily go unnoticed in larger groups.
The programme provides a framework, but two people can arrive at the same course with very different backgrounds.
If a participant already masters part of the content but needs to reinforce another area, the training can be adapted. The goal is not to complete a checklist at all costs, but to use the available time to work on what each person genuinely needs.
The mountains are not simply the backdrop for the course. They are part of the learning process itself.
A change in rock, a vertical section, a canyon with particular characteristics, a junction or a passage inside a cave all provide opportunities to learn how to interpret the environment and apply techniques in context.
An activity begins before putting on a harness or entering a canyon.
Depending on the course, we also work on aspects such as weather, guidebook information, route planning, equipment selection, terrain conditions, timing and assessment of alternatives.
MundoCanyon courses are adapted to each participant’s level, previous experience and objectives. For this reason, the duration of the training, number of sessions and price are determined individually.
Before designing the course, we have a short conversation to understand your starting point: what experience you have, which techniques you already master, what you need to improve and what your objective is.
Someone starting from zero does not need the same training as someone who already practises the activity and wants to perfect specific manoeuvres. Likewise, some participants may need a single focused session, while others require a more complete and progressive training process.
Based on this assessment, we define the most appropriate content, duration and format and provide you with a corresponding personalised quote.

Mainly in Pallars and other areas of the Lleida Pyrenees. The exact location depends on the discipline, the group’s level, the weather and the technical content being worked on.
Our current training includes canyoning, caving, mountain navigation and via ferrata courses, as well as personalised training and preparation for certain access tests.
It depends on the course. Beginner courses do not require previous technical experience or start from basic knowledge. Higher-level or advanced courses require a previous foundation.
If you are unsure, tell us what activities you have done, which techniques you already know and what your objective is. We will help you choose the most suitable course or level.
They can be organised for individuals, couples, small groups, clubs or private groups, depending on the type of training.
Yes. If you do not need to follow a complete programme, we can design training focused on specific manoeuvres or knowledge.
Independence in mountain sports is built progressively through training, practice and experience. A course provides knowledge, techniques and tools to keep progressing, but it does not replace experience gained in situations suited to your own level.
