Location

We are based in the small town of La Pobla de Segur, in the Pallars Jussà region of Lleida, Catalonia, in the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Our location gives us easy access to some of the best canyoning routes in the region. Many of the nearby canyons are just a short drive away, with some starting points only five minutes from La Pobla de Segur.

La Pobla de Segur is also an excellent base for exploring the surrounding mountains, picturesque villages and spectacular gorges. The area offers breathtaking views and a wide variety of hiking trails for all levels.

How to Get to La Pobla de Segur

By Train

Travelling by train is a great option for backpackers and anyone who prefers public transport. First, make your way to Lleida-Pirineus railway station, which is connected to Barcelona, Madrid and other major Spanish cities by high-speed trains.

From Lleida, take the regional train to La Pobla de Segur, the final stop on the Lleida–La Pobla railway line. The journey offers beautiful views of lakes, mountains and gorges along the way.

You can check train timetables and ticket information on the official FGC website.

By Bus

If you are travelling without a car, buses are another option. La Pobla de Segur has bus connections with Lleida and other towns in the region, while services from Barcelona and elsewhere may require a transfer.

We recommend checking current routes and timetables before travelling, as some services operate less frequently on weekends and public holidays.

By Car

Travelling by car is one of the most convenient ways to reach La Pobla de Segur and explore the surrounding area at your own pace. Whichever direction you approach from, you will encounter beautiful mountain scenery, dramatic gorges and winding roads through the Pre-Pyrenees.

If you are travelling from Lleida, there are two main options:

  • Via Camarasa (C-13): follow the C-13 north towards Balaguer, Camarasa, Tremp and La Pobla de Segur.
  • Via Àger (C-12): follow the C-12 towards Àger and continue towards the C-13, enjoying the impressive landscapes of the Montsec along the way.

Both routes offer spectacular scenery. We particularly recommend the route through Àger if you have time to enjoy the mountain landscapes during your journey.

By Plane

For international visitors, Barcelona-El Prat Airport is one of the most convenient arrival points, thanks to its extensive network of international flights.

From Barcelona, you can continue to La Pobla de Segur by train, bus or rental car. You can also check flight options to other nearby airports, depending on your departure point.

Renting a car is particularly useful if you plan to explore the Pallars Jussà and Pallars Sobirà during your stay. It gives you the flexibility to visit mountain villages, natural attractions and hiking areas that are difficult to reach by public transport.
