TL;DR
Choosing only five canyons in a region with more than thirty different descents is never easy. However, if we had to recommend a selection to discover the very best of canyoning in Pallars Jussà, these would be our favourites.
Each one offers a different experience: some stand out for their large pools and natural slides, others for their spectacular narrow sections, impressive rappels or the natural setting around them. The final choice will depend on your experience, the conditions on the day and, of course, what you are looking for in a canyoning adventure.
Book your adventure with MundoCanyon’s guides and enjoy a descent adapted to your level, with all equipment included.
Boixols is one of the best canyons for getting started. It stands out for its large pools, natural slides, optional jumps and rappels, all in a beautiful limestone setting.

Although it is a little further away than other descents in the region, it is absolutely worth it. The approach and return are very comfortable, and the route finishes beside a beautiful medieval bridge that gives the experience a perfect ending.
Gurp Canyon is perfect for those looking for a wilder adventure. Its narrow sections, spectacular rock formations and valley atmosphere make it one of the most special descents in Pallars Jussà.

There are different entry options, although it is always best to do them with a guide who knows the condition of the equipment and the best conditions for the route.
Flamisell means pure adrenaline. Its powerful water flow, the spectacular setting of the Vall Fosca and its proximity to Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park make this descent one of the great classics of the Pyrenees.

The water flow is usually fairly constant thanks to upstream hydraulic regulation, although it is always essential to check the conditions before doing the activity.
Les Espones is one of the most complete canyons in the region. It combines rappels, jumps, natural slides and different sections that make for a very varied experience.

Its final waterfall, visible from the road, is one of the most representative images of the Vall Fosca and makes this descent an excellent option for anyone looking for a very complete canyoning day.
If we had to choose just one canyon in Pallars Jussà, it would probably be Infern. Located in the spectacular Collegats Gorge, just a few minutes from La Pobla de Segur, it is one of the most famous descents in Catalonia.

Its impressive free-hanging rappel into a large cave, the beauty of the route and the surrounding natural landscape make many canyoners consider it one of the best canyons in the Pyrenees.
At the beginning of the season, when the Noguera Pallaresa carries more water, access may include a spectacular zipline over the river. In summer, the descent can finish by floating in its waters and enjoying some final jumps.
